Solo Chessboard Wargame
Silhouette Chess is a simple and fast tactical game that can be played solo with any chessboard, using the original chess pieces and a six-sided die. Like the abstract game of chess itself, Silhouette Chess can accommodate many scenarios: multi-unit military conflict, squad-on-squad skirmishes, or fantasy RPG combat.
I created this game because I wanted a fast, easy way to play a wargame with my chessboard. Something that could be played anywhere with a magnetic travel chess set, or at home with a minimum of fuss to set up and play.

I'm not much of a wargamer myself.
Or at least not of the type that's deep into historical accuracy, large playing spaces, and detailed minis. I see the charm of it, but laying out all that gear would just kill my momentum.
Which is probably why I gravitated toward something much simpler and a bit more abstract!

I had originally made a version of this for last year's One Page RPG jam But I didn't finish it because there wasn't enough time to complete the paper minis I had planned.
I looked at it again for this year's jam, and realized just using the original chess pieces would be far more flexible and portable!
